What are the types of toilets and cisterns available?
There are many different styles of toilet suites on the market including;
Concealed Toilet
The concealed toilet is becoming increasingly popular due to its stylish design. A concealed toilet has the cistern completely hidden – usually behind the wall but it can also be situated within the roof or behind a mirror. The toilet bowl is either located sitting flat against the wall and floor or the bowl could also be wall hung, leaving a space between the toilet and the floor.
Close Coupled Toilet
A close coupled toilet is a simple but effective design comprising of the toilet coupled with the cistern sitting on top. This design allows for the pipework to be concealed.
Link Toilet
The link (or connector) toilet is basically the same design as the close coupled toilet except that the cistern is connected to the toilet by a visible pipe, rather than sitting directly on top of the toilet. This pipe can be covered if required making for a more appealing design.
Wall Hung or Wall Faced Toilet
A wall hung toilet is located above floor level, which is aesthetically appealing and great for rooms with little space whereas the wall faced toilet sits flat against the floor and wall.
Urinals
Nowadays it is not only public toilets that provide the gentlemen with the use of a urinal, they are also becoming increasing popular within many Australian homes due to an advancement in technology and attractive designs – coupled together with a traditional toilet suite makes the ideal his and hers bathroom.
Bidet
Also becoming popular within modern Australian homes is the bidet – no longer a foreign luxury!
